A personal record isn't just a long absence. It's the combo setting a new ceiling for itself. The previous record tells you how far the game has stretched that combo before, so when the current drought clears it, you're watching history being made in the data.
How Stepzero Uses It
Stepzero highlights Personal Record combos with a distinct visual treatment in the Drought report and tracks the count of active records in the Current Status panel. The Previous Record (PREV) marker on the drought timeline shows exactly where the combo crossed its own ceiling.
Example
If combo 257 has drought gaps of 480, 312, and 205 draws in its history, its personal record was 480. If its current drought reaches 481, it enters Personal Record status.
What Makes This Different from Just a Long Drought
Every combo has its own rhythm — some combos return frequently, others tend to go quiet for long stretches. The personal record threshold is relative to each combo's own history, not to the game as a whole.
Combo 000 might have an average gap of 800 draws and a personal record of 2,400. Combo 123, with an average gap of 100, hits personal record status at 310. They're both in record territory relative to themselves — and that's the meaningful comparison.
How to Use Personal Records in Your Analysis
Personal Record status tells you the current drought has entered new territory for that specific combo. Use it alongside the multiplier — a combo with a 2.4× multiplier and a personal record is running well beyond both its average pace and its historical extremes.
Sarah aside: A personal record alone doesn't tell you when a combo will return. What it does tell you is that this combination is at a structural extreme relative to its own story.
